Beach day 3

I'm so glad my kids love the beach as much as their mommy. Makes me happy!

While the kids napped we enjoyed the water slide along with 50 other kids!  It's was fun and I don't care!!! Today we may hit up the lazy river!

Our view at dinner. It was awesome. The kids played in the sand until the food came!

Beach day 2

We love the beach and it shows for sure! Day 2 was absolutely perfect weather. When we first went out it was cloudy and we thought it may turn into a shopping day, but typical Florida weather it ended up being 78 and sunny all day!

Rain touched Ava and she want happy. They really couldn't be more different.

Now that the sun is out she is good!!

After nap we came back out to the beach since the weather was so perfect!!

I'm so in love with this picture!!!

Beach day 1 was a success

Aiden loves the beach. Ava we are still unsure about. Day one she did but with her, things can change very quickly!! We arrived Saturday afternoon and our condo wasn't ready and aiden was dying to see the ocean so off we went!

It was chilly but it didn't stop this kid. This day Ava wouldn't let us put her down. I got nervous that she was going to hate the sand. However I think it was a combination of being tired and cool that threw her off. Once our room was ready everyone took short naps (as in one hour). That night Aiden was just exhausted from the drive and really not much of a nap that he kept telling us he wanted to go home. He's such a home body and really doesn't like to spend the night out away from home these days. Which is so strange because he has traveled a lot. Once he was in bed with Joey he was fine and was out for the rest of the night. However that was after their hour long conversation. What do you think three year old boys talk about for that long?? We couldn't really understand them through the monitor but it was hilarious. All we could see is their little fingers pointing at guns shooting each other. Yep pretty much sums up our boys!

Full day one was much more successful. We were all well rested and ready to hit the beach. Even miss priss enjoyed herself.

Once we got all four kids to bed mommy relaxed at the pool with a cold beverage. It was fantastic!!

We even enjoyed our first dinner experience with four kids. It was crazy as expected but not too bad!

This was my attempt at trying to get my kids picture.

Oh well! It's been fun and on the way home Aiden said "hey mommy I don't want to go home anymore". Well good son because we have six more days!!

Life lately

It's been a while I know. Since the last time I wrote we actually had another BIG snow. This time 16 inches big. Which is way too much snow for me! However Aiden loved it. Since I don't do snow (never have and never will) I brought the snow inside and let the kids play. They loved it and it kept then busy for all of 30 min.

Luckily it warmed up quick and it didn't stay around long. A couple of days later we were outside walking. Got to love KY weather!

I've also been working really hard on my shrimp and grits kids trunk shows. I have the most wonderful friends who have fully supported me 100% and because of them I'm hoping to meet my quota to be able to sell again in the fall. This is just a few cute things my grandmother got Ava for the beach. Of course she got aiden some also however he refused to try them on and he now boycots pictures.

We also celebrated St Patricks day

Again aiden refused a pic and also refused to wear green that day. He wore blue. I pick my battles!!

This is the best I can get of him nowadays! God love him!

So that's about it! We leave for the beach next week and we are more then excited. Until then here is another cute pic of my only child that still allows me to dress her and take pictures!!!

Snow for days!

We got more snow then we have seen in a long time. It shut the city down and we had a snow day (or two)! Normally I would love a good snow day but we have been in this house since last Wednesday. First for sickness and now snow. So needless to say we are ready to get out!

Yesterday daddy went to work and we got busy playing and eating and more playing and more eating. Why do we eat so much when we are stuck inside?

First up breakfast by the window to look at the snow!

Then a little ride in the train Papaw and Grandma Pat brought over!

A little movie watching!

All before 10:30!

Got to love snow days with kiddos. Very different then my college or single years.

When daddy got home from work Aiden got to play outside for just a few min. It was really cold and Ava had to watch from the window. (no picture)

We then made potato soup for dinner and played some more! Looks like we will be doing it all over again today! We may try and venture out today even if its just to Mimi's house.

It was nice while it lasted!

I took Tuesday off the clean the house. I feel like now that I have two I just can't keep up so Tuesday the kids went to Kami's and I got busy. The house looked and smelled so good! For all of a couple  hours right before the two wild ones came home.

Both bathrooms were clean. Both kids rooms were organized. I was caught up on ALL the laundry and the kitchen floor even got mopped! I had candles burning and dinner in the crock pot. It was fabulous while it lasted.

And then this happened that night!

Oh well they had fun and I enjoyed my clean house while it lasted!

What have we been up to you ask?

Oh you know, just both kids got ear tubes the SAME day. Yes you read that right! I really didn’t think twice when the ENT (who just so happens to be a friend of mine who grew up down the street) said “do you want to just do both together” when I sat in her office deciding what day to have the surgery. My response “is that possible”. Come to find out it is and is actually very common especially with parents who have twins. Who knew?!

Ever since that day I definitely get the “are you crazy” look from friends and co-workers! So yes I went ahead and had both kids ear tube surgery scheduled and everything went great. Well except for that one time when both kids were screaming in recovery and throughout the entire hospital as we walked to our car pulling them in a wagon.  That was the one point when I thought I had made the worst mistake ever and that the day was going to be a no good very bad day.

Here is how it all started…..
Tuesday night we had the kids favorite meal (Spaghetti and meatballs) because I needed them to eat really well so they wouldn’t be hungry in the night.  Ava still gets up in the night to eat on most nights especially if she doesn’t get full. Just to be on the safe side I woke her up at midnight and gave her a bottle and said a little prayer that it would hold her over until she woke up. And it worked!
Wednesday morning my mom got to my house bright and early and we got the kids up at 6:30 am. The hospital had told us to bring an extra person since we would have two in recovery and would need to go back and forth between rooms. So glad my mom and Ryan’s dad were there to help! I was really excited because this was our first time at Kosiars St. Mathews. We normally have to go downtown for all our procedures and this made it so much closer. We got checked in and waited our turn. They came and gave Ava her “happy juice” and took her on back and then came for Aiden. When they give the kids the medicine to make them “loopy” I just think it is hilarious. Both cracked us up and we have it all on video!

The procedure is only 8 min so we weren’t waiting a long time. The hardest part was recovery. This was Ava’s first time with anesthetic so we weren’t sure how she would handle it. She got sick a couple of times but seemed fine right before we were leaving (except for the screaming). She was crying so hard I think the nurses were ready for us to get out of there. Once Aiden woke up they discharged us immediately. Aiden is always very fussy after anesthesia so we kind of knew what to expect. He also cried the entire way to the car. They gave us a wagon to pull them in and the looks we got riding through the hospital pulling two crying kids were priceless. But we made it home and for the most part had a pretty good day. Looking back it was well worth it! The next day they were completely back to normal!
