Go Cats

We are 2012 national champs!! Woohoo!! I stayed up late to watch the game while the boys fell asleep!! Well let me just say I had to set my alarm to wake me up at 11:20 just in case I fell asleep, and I did just that! But seeing the end was the best. It made me think about my college days at UK and I'm certain we would have burned the big brown couch at Lady Di Lane (and probably done the health department a favor)! My how my life has changed.


Daddy came home wearing a Kansas shirt but Aiden and I wore our UK gear proud!! Go Cats!!

3 Months

I say this every month but I can't believe you are already 3 months old. You are are so alert and are recognizing mommy and daddy! You smile all the time! We had to take you to the doctor this month for your first ear infection. You weighed 15 lbs and are 27 inches long.  You are in size 2 diapers and wear 3-6 month clothes (some 9 months). You sleep well, going to bed around 8:30 or 9 and sleeping until 5:30 most nights. You will go back down for another couple of hours after you eat. You love your hands and move them all the time. I think you are starting to notice your feet. You are not much of a napper and will only cat nap for about 30-45 min. You will normally only do this if someone is holding you. You sleep in your bed at night but won't have anything to do with your bed during the day. You "coo and babble" up a storm and it is so cute. You still hate tummy time and mommy is still really bad about putting you on your tummy. You have pretty good head control and I think within the next month you will be holding your head up on your own. You rolled over for the first time this month.

You are over the swing and want to always know what is going on. You do better when we are out rather then staying inside all day. You love to walk and we have many play dates with Sophie. You also like going on walks with Bryleigh!

You spent your first night away from home with Mimi this month. She said you were excellent and can spend the night anytime you want! Score!!

You will be taking your first beach trip in the next couple of days (your girlfriends are going along too!!!). We are so excited to put your feet in the ocean. When we return home mommy has to go back to work. I am really sad you have to start daycare but feel very lucky I got to spend 15 weeks at home with you!

And despite what your daddy says you are a CATS fan!!

Wordless Wednesday

Bittersweet

The time has come. We moved Aiden to his own crib, in his own room. It's a bittersweet moment for me. Don't get me wrong I'm all for children sleeping in their own rooms but it just reminds me of how fast he is growing up. I was one of those people who said they would never let their children sleep in the bed with them but I secretly love when he gets up early and we cuddle in the big bed!!

Last night was "the night"!! I have been trying all week to get Aiden to sleep in his own bed but Ryan wasn't ready. He simply wouldn't let me put him in there. I couldn't complain because I'm glad he cares and I actually find it very sweet that he had such a strong opinion.

We had both agreed to give it a try just to see how he does saturday night. Can you believe on night one he slept until 5 am without waking!! Woohoo! However, Ryan was up most of the night watching the monitor. He even asked several times if he should go get him because it was storming. I put my foot down there, there was no way he was waking him up for no reason.

Tonight I was getting things together for his 3 month pictures when I came into the room to find this! How sweet is this picture! All curled up next to daddy!! Needless to say I've already moved him to his crib! Let's hope for another good night!

The countdown begins!

Only 20 days until we leave for the beach!!! We are so excited that we are trying on our beach gear!!

And in 28 days I will no longer be Ms. Smith!! Happy Friday!

House divided

Or more like baby divided!! I bleed blue and so does Aiden but we are being nice to daddy today!! Go cats!!!

Midweek confessions

I'm linking up with E, Myself and I for Midweek Confessions.

I confess....I will put my son in bed with us in the morning just to get that extra couple hours of sleep. It is actually my favorite time because he cuddles up next to me! I know that there will be a point when he won't want to do this (or if he does that will just be weird) !

I am supposed to be on a diet so I can fit onto my wedding dress but I continue to eat sweets. I even bought Reese eggs yesterday. My excuse was i wouldn't be able to buy them after the wedding so I HAVE to eat them now! (BTW they are my favorite)

I am really excited about going to Zumba for the first time this weekend but still nervous I'm going to look like a fool. I don't know why I care!

I turned our air on last night. I know it was our first hot day and I should have waited but I can't stand to be hot!

I have a obsession with buying baby clothes. I went crazy in Janie and Jack this past weekend! I normally wouldn't pay that much for clothes but really want him to have cute outfits (complete with matching hats) for each night at the beach!! This just happens to be one of the outfits I purchased! I love dressing him like a little man!

I've been wanting to get Aiden in his own bed however Ryan won't let me. He says he's not ready for that yet which I think is very cute that he cares!

I have really enjoyed my time off and love that we have a routine developed in the day. I'm going to be so sad when I have to go back to work and send Aiden to daycare.

I think it helps that one of my really good friends is also on maternity leave. I love our little play dates. If Ryan and Kevin would let us quit our jobs I think I could be a stay at home mom! That is only if I had someone else that stayed home otherwise I would get bored and spend too much money!!

I have officially stopped breastfeeding! It's bittersweet but Aiden seems to be doing fine on formula! And while I'm confessing I'm excited that I don't have to watch my alcohol intake especially while we are on vacation.
