What I'm Loving Wednesday!

I am loving these knit hats from baby gap! I have to go get one ASAP for Aiden!

I'm loving that I can fit into regular clothes now! I have been looking for things to take to the beach in April!

I'm loving Pinterest and all the fun finds. I just wish I had time to make all the things I pin!

I'm loving that I finally picked a menu for the wedding! Now I just have 5,469 things to do! HA! Only 12 weeks away!

I am also loving being a mommy to this sweet baby! How cute is that face!!??!!

(BTW this is a 6 month outfit....can you say BIG BOY!!)

Aiden Pearce

Aiden Pearce Carriss
8 lb 14 oz

This is way past due but my days seem to run together! I thought after I had Aiden I would have all this time to blog, clean, cook etc but so far I haven't done any of the above. I can't figure where the time goes. My days are spent feeding, changing diapers, feeding, sleeping, visiting with family and friends, feeding again! This boy eats every hour to hour and half right now. He is such a growing boy!

Aiden was born on December 30, 2011. I had to have a c-section due to him being breached and was so nervous about having surgery. However it wasn't as bad as I thought even though it is a long recovery. The worst is having to stay in the hospital for 4 days. I also lost my grandmother the day before Aiden was born. This has been such a hard time for me. I wasn't able to get the closure I needed due to the funeral being in Alabama. There are days where I just cry and feel so alone but then I hold Aiden and everything seems so much better.

Being a new parent has come with ups and downs. It is such a different life style then what I'm used to. Don't get me wrong I LOVE every minute of it but everyday is a new learning experience. People try to give you advise but every baby (just like every pregnancy) is very different. I have learned to just do things the way I want and learn as we go. I have also realized that I am doing everything I said "I would never do". Breastfeeding has been another challenge for me but I know that it is best for Aiden and again everyday gets better.

I am anxious about getting back to my pre-baby weight mostly due to the fact that I have to fit into a wedding dress in approx 12 weeks. I have lost over 20 lbs so far and the dress is able to fit over my hips (but not zip just yet). Lets just pray that I am able to loose at least 15 more lbs before we leave!

I have SO much left to do for the big day and don't seem to have the time or energy to accomplish all the tasks. I have even put off calling my wedding planner for two weeks due to not having the answers she is looking for. So from this day forward I am going to try and accomplish at least one thing each day (or week)!

Here are some beautiful pictures from Aiden's newborn session! I just love this face!

Aiden will be 1 month on Monday. Where does the time go??!! Hopefully it won't be another month before I can post again!

Random thoughts/confessions

1.     I am getting a little nervous about being a parent and sometimes think maybe he should just stay in my belly forever (even though I am ready to not be pregnant anymore).
2.     I worry my child will be one of those children who doesn’t listen. You know the ones in the stores or restaurants that you say “my child will never act like that”.  Even though I highly doubt this will happen b/c I will raise my child the same way my mom raised me and we were not allowed to act like fools. We had to use manners and weren’t allowed to watch certain things on TV and defiantly didn’t talk back. Don’t get me wrong we weren’t perfect but we did mind and had rules to follow. Some kids these days are awful and I can’t imagine what my mom would do if I ever acted like that in public.
3.     On that note, Ryan and I have different views on discipline and this will be a challenge for us.
4.     I will probably wear maternity jeans for a very long time. I can’t imagine going back to a non-elastic waistband.
5.     I eat a lot of sweets these days. Last night I ate 4 cookies and they were fantastic.
6.     I also eat out for lunch most days since being pregnant. Nothing seems to sound good in the morning when I leave.
7.     During my entire pregnancy I didn’t eat like I probably should have. I ate out (a lot), ate fried foods, and even ate sandwich meat and fish. There were even days I didn’t have one fruit or vegetable but made sure I had something sweet.
8.     I am obsessed with Christmas and love decorating my house but this year I only have a tree up and that’s b/c my mom came over to do it.
9.     I hate doing laundry and let it pile up until we have nothing else to wear.
10.  I regift…sometimes!
11. I have done 95% of my Christmas shopping online.
12. I have only attended one Christmas party so far this season just b/c I haven’t felt like getting ready.  Nothing fits anymore and I just don’t feel like seeing anyone!
13. I love National Lampoons Christmas vacation and can’t wait to watch it on Thursday night.
14.  I also love cheesy ABC family and Lifetime Christmas movies.
15. I am not a fan of colored lights
16. I love getting Christmas cards in the mail but have never sent any of my own out. That will change next year with the arrival of Aiden.
17. I am super excited that both of my sisters will be in town for Christmas.
18.  I love starbucks and have probably had 15 peppermint mochas this season!
19.  I have been known to just throw away Ryan’s socks that I find on the floor. I get tired of picking them up.
20.   I have not packed for the hospital. I may need to get on that!

Recap!

I have been such a horrible blogger here lately. I think about it and then am too tired to actually log on and write anything. I am now in my 37th week of pregnancy and am feeling very uncomfortable. My feet and hands swell so bad I look like the nutty professor, my back hurts, and I have so much pelvic pain. Lets just say I'm DONE! Don't get me wrong I want my child to be healthy but I am so ready I could scream! At my last doctors visit I was 1 cm dilated. YAY there is light at the end of the tunnel! Sunday I had a huge melt down thinking he was going to stay in here forever (even though I knew he wasn't)! I know it could still take weeks but hey its a start! I can't wait to meet our bundle of joy!

Here is recap of what has been going on. My best friend Rachel got married in November at Keeneland. It was so beautiful. I also had two baby showers and just this past weekend had our annual girls Christmas party!

Hopefully I will get better at blogging especially when Aiden comes! This is my goal at least!

The past couple of months.....

Now that I'm officially on bed rest I am going to try and catch up on my blog! Here is what has been going on the past couple of months!

First we had showers for the brides to be! Two of my best friends got married two weeks apart. It was a busy month but so much fun!

Then comes the double bachelorette party!

And finally the weddings!

Since Lindsay got married in Florida, it was also like a mini vacation with all of our friends!

Since my last post I have also had more wedding showers for my college roommate Rachel, two baby showers and breeders cup. I will post about these events soon! As you can see I have been pretty busy and very pregnant!

Weekend Recap!

We had a fabulous weekend getaway in the Great Smokey Mountains. It was so nice to just relax and not "have" to do anything all weekend.

This was our view from out back deck

Our cabin!

We also spent a great deal of time at the outlet malls! I spent way too much money but hey I got some great deals and lots of goodies for baby Aiden!

Needless to say I wasn't ready to come home even though this is a short work week for me. This weekend one of my best friends is getting married. We have lots and lots of fun wedding festivities going on so I'll be sure to post all the fun pictures we take.

Happy early weekend everyone!
