May Goals

I'm going to start this new thing of writing out my goals for the next month. I read several blogs where they do this and it seems fun. I don't have the followers like they do (nor do I want them!) so this is mostly for myself and maybe the three friends and family members who actually read this little blog!!

Maybe it will last maybe it won't but I figured it's worth a try. And maybe since I'm blogging about it I will actually follow through with them (or at least some of them).

So here we go.....

1. Cook 2 new meals for dinner

2. Have a play date with friends

3. Clean out my closet

4. Start a book

5. Watch a movie with Ryan

6. Have date night

7. Have dinner with friends

8. Fix a dinner for someone just because

Let me start with goal 1. I feel like I cook the same things EVERY. FREAKING. WEEK. I've started reading two new blogs who post a lot of recipes so I'm hoping to try some this month!

I also want to get aiden and Ava together with some of my friends kids. Wether that be at the park or over to the house or go see a movie. Anything would be nice.

Goal number 3 is something that has been on my to do list for months. Let's see if it actually gets accomplished.

I also want to start a book. Not so much finish it this month but at least start one. I haven't read since Ava has been born and I really miss it.

I guess we could combine goal 5 and 6 but I'm hoping we don't. We need to still celebrate our anniversary that was April 13th. We never get each other anything for birthdays or holidays but we do like to go to a really nice dinner on our anniversary. I had made reservations at a new French restaurant in Louisville and got a babysitter but because of my wreck we had to cancel. Maybe in may! And for the movie night. Well we never watch tv really and if we do we are in seperate rooms after the kids go to bed. Well because Ryan likes sports center or cnn and I like bravo and keeping up with the kardashians!! (I litterly only watch about 1 hour a night if that. I'm usually too exhausted and crash!)

Number 7 won't be hard since we have dinner divas every month but I still like making it a goal. Dinner club is my favorite time of the month and I need it to stay sane! Maybe I can have a couple over one night also, that would be fun!!!

And last, I really hope I follow through on goal number 8. It sounds strange but I've realized over the last week not having to cook much as been really nice. I want to sort of pay it forward. Maybe not to someone who has been sick or just had a baby but maybe to someone who I think may not want to cook one night or has been super busy with life. Well I guess that could be any parent right?!?!  We will see, it may be too awkward. I will keep you posted.

So let's see how the month of may goes!  wish me luck!

It's always something around here....

So because life was a little calm around here for a while I knew it wouldn't last long. Thursday night I was in a pretty bad accident after I dropped Ava off at my moms. Thankfully aiden wasn't with me!

A lady ran a stop sign and plowed right into me. I actually remember everything and I walked away from the accident with only minor injuries and I'm so thankful for that. I did have to be taken to the hospital to be checked out and X-rays didn't find any broken bones. I'm very sore where my seatbelt tightened up and the airbags burned my leg and arms but it could have been a lot worse. Supposedly I'll be sore for a few weeks. Luckily Ryan has been awesome and has been doing everything around the house and with the kids. I can't even get myself off the couch or bed without screaming but hopefully I'll be back to normal really soon. It's been hard because my entire family has been out of town along with Ryan's family but we have managed.

Ryan was able to clean my van out yesterday and took a few pictures. I couldn't believe the damage when I saw it. I loved my van and I'm very sad it's totaled. I guess car shopping is in our future (which I hate).

And since I haven't been able to do much of anything around the house cooking has been out of the picture along with grocery shopping. We had been eating out for almost every meal and it was getting really old. Luckily we had dinner delivered to us last night and it was amazing. It was a casserole from hilltop in Shelbyville. I had no idea they even had such an option but will be keeping that in mind for the next time I need to take dinner to someone. What's even more awesome is both kids ate it. That says a lot since my kids are very picky. Maybe they were tired of fast food also!

I'm hoping to at least make it to work for half day either Monday or Tuesday. I'm still on lots of meds so we will see how it turns out. I've never been so ready to hold my baby girl who really doesn't understand why mommy can't pick her up. However aiden has been such a big help. He takes my hand and walks me to the living room and brings me water. He is so sweet! He also loves laying in bed with me and the company is always welcome!!! As you can imagine I have watched no less then 8672 Mickey Mouse episodes and the entire season of greys anatomy.

Life lately

I love spring. I love getting outside and out of the house and after this winter we needed to get out. First stop was a spring festival at a nearby orchard.

Face painting and bouncy houses. Win win!!

Ryan and I celebrated our third anniversary. We haven't celebrated yet but hopefully we can at least get away for dinner in the near future.

I also hosted our monthly girls dinner divas but got absolutely no pictures.

I attempted to take the kids pictures at the capital last Sunday but as usual they didn't cooperate. Needless to say I've booked someone else to take their pictures in the next few weeks!

We've played outside every day even in the rain!!!

And yesterday we spent a wonderful day at Keeneland with one of my very best friends and her husband. It was fabulous. Even better we didn't have to fight the crowds because we were in the chalet with servers and great food!!

And yummy drinks!!

That night we went to a neighbors super hero birthday party. Ava was thrilled can you tell! Ha.

Twins!!! (Spider-man wouldn't take his pic, go figure).

Today aiden and I had a mommy/son date day with MiMi. We started with Starbucks and target, had lunch at California pizza kitchen and ended with a trip to trader joes. He is at such a wonderful age to take places right now. I absolutely love this stage!! It helps that he loves my three favorite places also (target, Starbucks and trader joes)!!

Now we are ending the night with a cookout with the fam!!

Easter

We spent most of our Easter traveling. I was really sad we couldn't attend church with my family in Birmingham but we really wanted to get on the road. We made it home just in time for the kids to nap and then we headed to Ryan's dads for an Easter egg hunt and dinner. It was a lot of fun but because we rushed when we got home my car is still packed from vacation (6 days later). I really need to take a week off afterwards just to get life back to normal. Ava also got strep throat when we returned. I'm thankful we were all healthy while away though. First time in a while we have been on a trip without someone being sick.

This is actually the best picture I could get of the two of them.

Hunting eggs

Ava was just interested in putting her baby in her basket. Such a sweet little mommy.

A Perfect ending

This trip was so amazing! The kids were perfect (except for typical three year old behavior), the weather was perfect and our condo was perfect. We couldn't have asked for anything better! Our last day we spent at the beach/pool and then took a sunset dolphin cruise. The kids loved it and we saw lots of dolphins!

Are they not the cutest things ever?!?!

Ava didn't like the life jacket too much

We are sad to be leaving. Until next time

Beach day 5

Yesterday was awesome and the weather was perfect again. We couldn't have asked for better weather.  Sunny and 78!! We spent most of the day before nap at the beach, took naps and headed to lulus for dinner.

Yes we are matching!

Why is it so hard for my kids to take pictures?

Four cuties and future BFFs!

Beach day 4

I'm trying to document every day at the beach so I can go back  and remember these days and so my family can see the kids having so much fun!! Here is what day 4 looked like minus the pics from my real camera. Those will have to wait until we get home and I can download them. Until then here is my iPhone pictures.
