Bittersweet

The time has come. We moved Aiden to his own crib, in his own room. It's a bittersweet moment for me. Don't get me wrong I'm all for children sleeping in their own rooms but it just reminds me of how fast he is growing up. I was one of those people who said they would never let their children sleep in the bed with them but I secretly love when he gets up early and we cuddle in the big bed!!

Last night was "the night"!! I have been trying all week to get Aiden to sleep in his own bed but Ryan wasn't ready. He simply wouldn't let me put him in there. I couldn't complain because I'm glad he cares and I actually find it very sweet that he had such a strong opinion.

We had both agreed to give it a try just to see how he does saturday night. Can you believe on night one he slept until 5 am without waking!! Woohoo! However, Ryan was up most of the night watching the monitor. He even asked several times if he should go get him because it was storming. I put my foot down there, there was no way he was waking him up for no reason.

Tonight I was getting things together for his 3 month pictures when I came into the room to find this! How sweet is this picture! All curled up next to daddy!! Needless to say I've already moved him to his crib! Let's hope for another good night!

Midweek confessions

I'm linking up with E, Myself and I for Midweek Confessions.

I confess....I will put my son in bed with us in the morning just to get that extra couple hours of sleep. It is actually my favorite time because he cuddles up next to me! I know that there will be a point when he won't want to do this (or if he does that will just be weird) !

I am supposed to be on a diet so I can fit onto my wedding dress but I continue to eat sweets. I even bought Reese eggs yesterday. My excuse was i wouldn't be able to buy them after the wedding so I HAVE to eat them now! (BTW they are my favorite)

I am really excited about going to Zumba for the first time this weekend but still nervous I'm going to look like a fool. I don't know why I care!

I turned our air on last night. I know it was our first hot day and I should have waited but I can't stand to be hot!

I have a obsession with buying baby clothes. I went crazy in Janie and Jack this past weekend! I normally wouldn't pay that much for clothes but really want him to have cute outfits (complete with matching hats) for each night at the beach!! This just happens to be one of the outfits I purchased! I love dressing him like a little man!

I've been wanting to get Aiden in his own bed however Ryan won't let me. He says he's not ready for that yet which I think is very cute that he cares!

I have really enjoyed my time off and love that we have a routine developed in the day. I'm going to be so sad when I have to go back to work and send Aiden to daycare.

I think it helps that one of my really good friends is also on maternity leave. I love our little play dates. If Ryan and Kevin would let us quit our jobs I think I could be a stay at home mom! That is only if I had someone else that stayed home otherwise I would get bored and spend too much money!!

I have officially stopped breastfeeding! It's bittersweet but Aiden seems to be doing fine on formula! And while I'm confessing I'm excited that I don't have to watch my alcohol intake especially while we are on vacation.

Thumb sucker

Well we officially have a thumb sucker on our hands!! I really didn't want my child to suck his thumb 1. Because you can't take the thumb away like you can a paci and 2. I'm a germaphobe and worry now that he is going to catch everything because he will constantly have his hands in his mouth!

But there is nothing I can do about it! I have tried replacing it with a paci but he wants nothing to do with it! My sister was a thumb sucker and she admitted tonight she helped him find it while we were in Birmingham. I can't wait for her to have kids!! Paybacks!!

I have to admit he does look so cute!!

2 Months Old

Dear Aiden,

You are 2 months old, I can't believe it. At your check up you weighed 12.10 lbs and 25 inches long. You are growing like a weed! You are now in 3-6 month clothes and size 2 diapers. You are sleeping very well most nights getting up only once to eat. Mommy is so very lucky because you are such a happy baby. You smile all the time. You are starting to recognize mommy and daddy and smile when we come into the room or you hear our voice. You are moving your arms and legs all the time. You have found your hands and in fact they wake you up all the time. You are starting to coo and "talk"!

Mommy loves our time during the day. We sing and read books all the time. You love looking at the bright colors on the pages. You are also grabbing objects such as the rattle and fingers. You love music. All mommy has to do is lay you down and play music and you are so happy.

You are such a good eater. You are now eating between 4-5 ounces every 2 1/2-3 hours. I am only pumping 3-4 times a day and the rest of the time you take a formula bottle.

We have been spending time with Sophie and going on walks on warm days. You love to walk and mommy gets adult time!

We are still working on a schedule and are doing pretty well with it. You love the bath and now kick your feet to splash the water. You are drooling a lot and started blowing spit bubbles. Your grandmother thinks you may be teething and I think she may be right. Wow times goes by fast! Mommy is very excited she is not going back to work until the middle of April and will get to spend more time with you!

You have had several "firsts" this month. You went to church for the first time for Bryleigh's baptism.

You also took your first road trip to see Aunt Sarah and Aunt Angie. You did so well in the car and slept the entire way. I think you are going to take after your mommy and love to travel!
