Royal Wedding

I was so excited about this event and have been anxiously awaiting this day since November when they announced their engagement. Okay I wasn't up this morning at 4am but I did record the royal wedding ceremony and was able to watch a little before going to work and then finished it tonight. I love this couple and wish them the best of happiness! I think it was absolutely fabulous and the media made me feel like I was right there with them (Oh how I wish I was!).

I thought Kate was a beautiful bride, and I LOVED the dress! I thought is was very classy and conservative, which is what the future Queen should be.  They both look so happy!

WILW

I am linking up with Jamie again for WILW!

First of all I'm NOT loving all this rain we are having in the Bluegrass state. I feel like I have not slept in days because of all the storms that pass through here every night that keep me awake wondering when I need to rush to the basement.

But I am loving that I got to spend an amazing Easter weekend with family and friends. Since my sister was home we spent the entire weekend looking at wedding dresses and bridesmaid dresses! We even found what dresses my girls will wear. (this will be a post in the near future!)

Sisters having some fun!

I am always loving Starbucks iced coffee (decaf that is since I stopped drinking caffeine 11 months ago)!

I am loving that Oaks is next weekend! I can't wait to wear my hat!

(Oaks 2010)
We are upgrading this year from the infield to clubhouse seats! So excited!

I am loving these dresses!

I think I need to purchase them! I'm sure I'll wear them to many showers that I'll be attending this year right?!!

I am loving that my mom is hosting a baby shower for a very dear friend this weekend. We have been friends since we were born and also grew up across the street from each other. I am so excited to welcome baby Dew soon!!

Lastly I am loving that I am getting married in 352 days!!

Stefanie's bachelorette party

A couple of weekends ago I went to Lexington for one of my friends bachelorette parties. It was so good to see everyone. I attended University of Kentucky for college and was so fortunate to meet these four girls (along with many other great girls!). We have had so much fun over the years and don't get together much but when we do we have a blast. They are truly the BEST!

I'm so sad I will miss her wedding. She is having a destination wedding but having a reception back home but Ryan is in a wedding the same day. I know Stefanie will be a beautiful bride and can't wait to see pictures!

Engagement Party

Saturday my Grandmother and Mother hosted us a wonderful engagement party. All of my close friends and family were there to celebrate with us! I was so excited to see so many friends that I haven't seen in a long time. My sister also flew in from New Orleans which was so nice. Its so hard planning my wedding without her here.

Here are some of the pictures I took. I wish I would have taken more but I was so busy talking to everyone I didn't have a chance.

Save The Dates

I have been researching save the dates and can't decide what I like. Here are a few of the top choices.

I think I may go with one of the starfish or Palm tree because it will go with our "beach theme"

WILW

I'm linking up with Jamie for WILW

First I'm loving that the weather is warming up in the Bluegrass state! Kentucky is beautiful in the spring! However, I wasn't loving the weather last night when we had to go to the basement because of tornado warnings!
I'm also loving that in just a little over two weeks will be Derby Weekend. It is one of our favorite times of the year in our household! Every year we go to Oaks which is the day before Derby. It's kind of "Derby Day for Locals". It is still a huge event but not quite as many people although in the coming years Oaks has became more popular.

I am loving my Oaks hat from White House Black Market. All I need to do is find Pink shoes!

I'm loving these shoes also from White House Black Market, and think I may have to order them today! They match my hat and purse I bought for Oaks!
I am loving my sweet Delilah! She is so cute!

And of course I am loving that I am getting married to my best friend in 359 days!!

Beach Reads

One of my favorite things to do is to read. However, I find it very challenging in the winter for some reason. In the summer I feel like I have more time (or maybe it's because no new shows are on). Whatever it may be, I have officially started my summer book list of books I would like to read this summer. My favorite place to read is sitting on the beach. I love waking up early, getting a cup of coffee and sitting outside listening to the ocean. I actually have three beach trips planned within the next 6 months and would love to have the time to read at least one book per trip if not more. One is strictly a vacation. We are going to Fripp Island with my fiance's family so I know I will have the opportunity to relax. The next one will be when I meet with my wedding planner and the other for one of my best friends wedding. Those I probably won't have much time to read, but that's okay it will be totally worth it. Maybe I can sneak in some time in the mornings at least!

Here are a few of the books on my list:

I actually bought this book last summer and never got around to reading it. I love all of Emily Giffin's books. I also can't wait for the movie to come out that is based off one of her first books Something Borrowed.

Mary Kay Andrews is another favorite author. I have read all of her books and absolutely love them. Great summer/beach reads! This book isn't released until June 2011.

This book also doesn't come out until June 2011.

We have a DATE!

It’s official we have a DATE set for our Wedding!! April 13, 2012 I will walk down the aisle and I am so excited! The exact location is yet to be determined however we do know it will be somewhere in Orange Beach/Gulf Shores, AL.

I have officially paid the wedding planner deposit, so with that said…..Let the planning begin! Our wedding planner is Ashley with Orange Beach Weddings and we couldn’t be more excited about working with her. She is going to help us with all the wonderful decision making. Check out her website, she is wonderful!
My mom and I are going down to meet with her in June. From there we have to meet with the florist, bakery and caterers AND find a place to hold the reception and ceremony (all in 4 days)! I feel so overwhelmed with all the decisions I have to make but know it will all be worth it in the end!

On top of planning my own wedding 4 of my dearest friends are also tying the knot!! Oh and 2 are having babies! I can’t wait, this is going to be a busy but very fun year.

Welcome!

Well here I am! Welcome to my page.
I have been wanting to blog for some time now but haven’t had the courage to do so. I love reading other people’s blogs (and could spend hours doing so) but always thought I didn’t have anything to blog about. However, here recently I became engaged and thought this would be the perfect opportunity for me to start blogging! I want to use this as a journal for myself as well as for my family and friends to follow me on my journey as I plan my perfect dream beach wedding!
Stay tuned!
